"Gloria" Porcelain Manufacturing - Decorator Marks

Charles Ahrenfeldt & Son porcelain - Stará Role, Czech Republic (Altrohlau, Bohemia, Austria) and importer New York City, New York (USA)

Ahrenfeldt was a New York importer, as well as owning factories in Czechoslovakia, Paris, and Limoges, France.

1886 the decorating studio was established operated by Charles Ahrenfeldt & Son in Altrohlau, Bohemia, Austria. It was called a porcelain factory, though porcelain was never produced there. It was sometimes called Carlsbad China Factory and the product was advertised as "Altrohla Ware." Notice the spelling of the village in the mark. In 1899 production included table and household ware. Most of the production was exported the United States.
1910 Bosshard & Co owned and operated the company,
1920 the owner was Eberl, Mosch & Co.,
1925 the owners were Alfred Moschl and Ferdinand Hein. After 1926 the factory only decorated souvenirware.
1929 the factory was owned by Anton Weidl and it was known as "Gloria" Porcelain Manufacturing.
1949 the factory was nationalized into Starorolský Porcelán and closed. Anton Weidl moved to Bayreuth.

Friedrich Simon Company - Decorator Marks

Friedrich Simon Company, a decorating studio in Karlovy Vary, Czechoslovakia (Karlsbad)

The company was in existence from 1900 to 1945. The company purchased blanks from Bohemia Ceramic Works and other Karlovy Vary (Karlsbad, Bohemia, Austria) area factories. He used an additional Mark on pieces with the original factory Mark that included FSC or FSK, presumably Friedrich Simon of Carlsbad or Karlsbad.

Josef Riedl - Decorator Marks

Josef Riedl, a decorating studio in Stružná, Czech Republic (Giesshubel, Bohemia Austria)

1890 to 1930. Riedl decorated beautiful and high quality pieces in the manner of Imperial and Royal Porcelain Manufactory, Vienna, thus the bindenschild (beehive) mark. Additionally, many of his pieces have painting after the famous artist, Angelica Kauffmann. Riedl's work should be considered on its own merit. It is wonderful!

Slama & Co Marks

Slama & Co, Znojmo, Moravia, Czechia (Znaim, Moravia, Austria)

1868 decorating studio
1945 closed
1948 reopened in Vienna, Austria

It is Moravian not Bohemian. The forms and decorations are very different from those found on Bohemian ceramics. I do not have a Moravian section so I put it here.
